Good morning, friends!
On my heart today… ♥
What freedom this brings! Freedom from chaos and wasted time looking for things. Freedom to live life more fully, peacefully, and productively.
There are so many wonderful resources to help with organization. I’ll list some below. In a nutshell, though, here is the process. It’s not difficult, it just takes some time and diligence:
Sort all items in your home, room by room, into four categories: Keep, Give Away, Sell, and Throw Away/Recycle. Then, bag up the give away items and take them to the donation center of your choice. Next, bag up the the throw away items and take them to the dump. A trip to the dump is educational for all and very motivating in the making best use of our resources department. In short, take your kids with you and show them where their trash goes. Finally, decide if you’re going to have a garage sale or use an app like OfferUp for the items you want to sell. Then get things sold right away.
Now that you’re left with only items you want to keep, put those in places that make sense to you and your family. Take stock of what containers you have to store your items in and use those first. Then if you need baskets, bins, etc, purchase those and put them to use. Once you have things in their places, teach and train your children to put things away as soon as they’re finished with them.
That’s it! Super simple process that anyone can do. So, jump on it, stick with it, and then see what a difference it makes in your family’s life. This is a game changer!
